SPRING HILL COURT, EASINGWOLD
This Extra Care Scheme is constructed in the heart of the North Yorkshire town of Easingwold, on the site of the former council offices and highways depot.
The scheme successfully replaces the existing provision currently available at the nearby Tanpit Lodge LA Care Home. The home closure was a very sensitive issue and we, together with NYCC and our Client, Housing 21, took part in early meetings with residents and their families to explain the concept of Extra Care, answer questions, and offer reassurance. The same group addressed a number of lively meetings with the public of Easingwold.
The final design solution respected the proximity of neighbouring properties, whilst achieving a high density development on a small site. The materials chosen and elevational treatments reflect the local vernacular allowing the building to harmonize with its surroundings.
