The Practice has been involved with Social Housing projects since 1976, projects have included, general family housing, extended family housing, cat I, cat II, frail and elderly, nursing homes, extra care, intermediate care homes, women’s refuge, and secure hostel accommodation.

 Langtry-Langton Architects has widespread experience in the design and Provision of Extra-Care Hosing. Our first Extra Care scheme was delivered in 1999. Since then 25 Extra Care schemes providing over 1100 units, have been successfully delivered in partnership with Housing Associations and Local Authorities, demonstrating Extra Care housing is a core product in our business activity. We are confident that our design teams are experienced and committed to producing high quality developments for the whole team to be proud of.

We have extensive experience in providing innovative designs to improve and replace outdated sheltered stock, through remodelling and new build methods - selected depending on best value and local need, and providing contemporary, flexible Extra Care housing facilities which promote independence, empowerment and accessibility – providing lifelong homes.
