GIRLINGTON NEIGHBOURHOOD NURSERY, BRADFORD
The project provides 151 childcare places, integrated with, family support, advice centre, health services, integrated learning and childcare, outreach support, training, toy libraries, job centre plus, social areas and catering kitchen and dining.
The scheme has the “plus” status, as it has been designed to create a fully accessible building providing specialist services for disabled children. The building is zoned to enable progressive security.
The spaces are designed to create a welcoming feel. The spaces have views into other areas, giving visual clues as to the buildings use.
Care has been taken to ensure the scheme relates to the children in scale, texture and light .
